Visiting the Botanic Gardens

I love walking in nature; whether it’s a forest, lake, or a garden. These environments are immersive, and it’s good for the body and mind. The Botanic Gardens in the Dandenong Ranges were lovely to walk through. I saw some beautiful flora. Surprisingly, I only found one type of flower that had a scent. I…
QYO Solo! Concert
Today, my composition, ‘Tidal Expanse’ was performed live by members of the Queensland Youth Symphony at the Old Museum Building in Bowen Hills, Brisbane; bringing the Solo with QYO program run by AYCP to a close. The music sounded really good! It was unfortunately a short piece and I would’ve liked to be able to…
Music Careers Expo

I had an excellent time on Tuesday at the Music Careers Expo in Newstead, Brisbane; an all-day event organised by The Push. The day kicked off with an opening performance by LanGwij. They showcased an original blend of rock, funk, and hip hop. They put on an incredibly entertaining performance! They were loud, engaging, and…
About Me
Hi, I’m Mitchell. I’m in my final year of high school and I’m an aspiring musician.
I write original music. I have composed a concert band piece which you can check out here! I’ve also written a short solo work for the Queensland Youth Orchestra as a participant of the Australian Young Composers Program. It’s out now!
I’ve been playing the alto saxophone for over 8 years. I love to play a mix of Funk, Jazz, R&B, and Soft Rock. In the past, I performed at school concerts and events. just recently, I started teaching at the Australian Academy of Music.
I’m a bit of a thrill seeker. I got the opportunity to skydive 15,000ft over St Kilda in Melbourne and it was great fun! Recently I travelled to Sydney and I climbed the Harbour Bridge. The views were stunning!
I do my best to get along with others and I love making people laugh. I don’t talk with many people and it sometimes feels challenging to engage in conversations, but regardless, I feel very valued when I am talking to people and I love a good conversation!
